We’ve noticed that many riders and busy students struggle to find consistent time on the water to truly progress. That’s why this Sri Lanka Kite Tour was designed to maximise your riding time and accelerate your progression — all while exploring one of the most exciting kitesurfing destinations in the world.

Whether you’ve never touched a kite before or you’re already chasing your first jumps, this tour gives you the best chance to level up fast. Beginners will be riding confidently by the end of the week, intermediate riders will be boosting higher and controlling jumps, and advanced riders will be looping and spinning flat water lagoons.

You’ll stay right on the water, where steady thermal winds blow day in day out. The best spots are a short boat ride away straight off the jetty at the resort. From flat-water lagoons perfect for learning to small waves and downwinders for the adventurous — Sri Lanka offers it all. Between sessions, we’ll stretch and recover, eat incredible delicious food, and enjoy the sunshine.

We’ll capture your progress along the way with GoPro, drone, and camera footage — helping you fine-tune your technique and take home epic memories of you riding in paradise.

What's included and not included?

The only thing you will have to consider during the trip is if you are too tired to keep kiting.

Where do we stay?

Rascals provides guests with comfortable eco-style cabin accommodation.

This tucked away resort was rated number 1 on Lonely Planet and for good reason! Amazing food, stylish rooms, pool and more.

Question 4

How windy is it?

Accepted Answer

Typically it blows 15-25knots all day every day.

There can be stronger and lighter days and the minute chance of a no wind day.

You will want to have kites that you can ride at 12knots to 30knots

At 75kg I would be riding my 9m most of the time and 13m some of the time.

Can I bring a non-kiting friend?

The resort where we stay is secluded and remote.
+1s would enjoy their stay here if they enjoy relaxing and getting away from it all.

The resort has a nice pool, a bar open all day and yoga next door.

It is a boutique resort and we book it out, so it will be quite deserted while we are out kiting which may be appealing for the +1s seeking some time to themselves.

Can I rent the kite equipment?

You have a few options!

1. Renting the latest Duotone gear off Rascals. You can see the price list in our info pack.

2. Hire to buy: If you're thinking about buying gear but not sure you you can rent gear and we will take 50% off the rental price of any kite and bar purchase.

3. Buy Core gear off us to bring over for your trip

Kiting Twin Shares:
AU$3550pp
Triples available on request for groups of 3.

Kiting Couples/Shared Bed:
Aircon: AU$3550pp
Non-Aircon: AU$3450pp

Private:
Aircon: AU$3950
Non-Aircon: AU$3750

Add Non-Kiting +1 to Private Room:
€300 (euro)

A deposit is required within 24 hours of your booking to lock in your spot.

Deposit: $1000 deposit to secure your spot

6 months prior: 50% of the tour price.

3 months prior: The full amount must be paid

Payment Options:
- Bank Transfer - No Fee
- Debit/Credit Card - 1.9% Fee

Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Up to 61 days till day of departure:

Deposit + any cancellation fees incurred by our partners.

Within 61 days of departure

Unfortunately as by this time we will have organised and paid for all the accommodation, instructors etc which don't offer refunds this close to the tour so we are unable to provide a refund. If you do find yourself in this situation we are happy to transfer your spot to someone else so you can at least live vicariously through them!

Covid Cancellation

In the event that you cannot make the tour due to state border restrictions or you are required to self-isolate or quarantine, as a direct result of Covid-19, the following refund applies:

Full refund except for fees we incur from our providers.
